  5. How did David got inspiration for Aves?

    David remembers working on taxidermy project in his dads basement when he was about 11. The earthen clay he was using to affix things would end up getting shrunk or cracked after it got dried.

    So he started thinking about making a synthetic material that would harden without shrinking and be durable enough to last a lifetime.

  7. How did cheese and taxidermy come into this?

    From preserving specimens in his father's basement to becoming a veterinarian, Dave's love for taxidermy led him to develop self-hardening clay specifically for the industry. Alongside his wife Sandy, they built Aves Taxidermy and added Cheese, incorporating Sandy's family's renowned cheese-making legacy. Over the years, Aves Clay expanded its reach to museums, Hollywood FX artists, jewelry designers, and more, with continuous growth and a focus that extends beyond taxidermy.
